Issue information
The twenty-four solar terms in the Chinese calendar are said to have originated in the Yellow River Basin, reflecting seasonal and weather changes. In 2016, UNESCO officially included China's "Twenty-four Solar Terms" in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Hongkong Post will issue the first set of special stamps entitled "Twenty-four Solar Terms" to let the public know the six solar terms in spring, which are Lichun, Rain, Sting, Spring Equinox, Qingming and Gu Yu. For the first time, the stamps have a semi-circular design, and the stamps are arranged in a side-by-side manner, especially when they are launched on the first day of spring.
