Hong Kong ’97 Exhibition

New Zealand Post released these special products to commemorate the 11th Asian International Stamp Exhibition in 1997.

Issue information

The 11th Asian International Stamp Exhibition took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 12 to 16 February 1997.

The event marked the first time an international stamp exhibition was held in Hong Kong and it enjoyed the patronage of FIAP, philately’s international governing body.

New Zealand Post issued two special exhibition miniature sheets to commemorate Hong Kong ’97: a miniature sheet that featured the 1997 Year of the Ox - Cattle of New Zealand stamps and a lunar calendar ox figure; and a sheet with a background of Māori wood carving with three stamps from the Māori Crafts stamp issue released in 1996.
