The Panorama of Our Stories

From our vibrant native tree flowers to cherished children’s books, Art Deco buildings to our loyal pets, The New Zealand Stamp Collection 1999 spanned an incredible diversity of subjects. Relive the past, join our most illustrious as they lead the way, see the thrill and action of professtional rugby, walk some of the most beautiful tracks in our own backyard and join thousands of New Zealanders in their yachts... plus much, much more.

Committed to Presentation

Quality has always been the distinguishing factor of this unique publication. You could see the time and effort that went into arranging this presentation, which marked it as an attractive and timeless album. The typefaces, layout, text and graphics were all carefully chosen and designed to hightlight the stamps. From the overall impression to the level of detail, this was a collection that rewarded both the reader and the collector in you, on so many levels. It was a truly visual and factual feast.

Specialist Authors

Once again, we asked experts to share their specialist knowledge and experience with us. The results were wonderful insights and articles packed with fact and personality. Featured writers for this edition included horticulturalist and television presenter Bill Ward, host of Tux Wonder Dogs Mark Leishman, Editor of Rugby News Matt McIlraith, and prolific author Margaret Mahy. You also learned from Te Papa’s curator of History Paul Thompson, Robert McGregor of the Art Deco Trust, and Phyllis Guthardt, Chancellor of the University of Canterbury.
