On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the guns fell silent along the Western Front. The First World War had effectively ended. To commemorate this important centenary and honour those who served, a series of official stamps and legal tender commemorative coins have been issued.

Set of Stamps

A set of five stamps has been designed by New Zealand Artist Dave Burke to honour the men and women who served in WW1, and those who serve today.

  • 2 x $1.20 stamps, 1 x $2.40 stamp, 1 x $3.00 stamp and 1 x $3.60 stamp
  • Perfect for any war themed philatelic collection
  • Memorabilia commemorating the end of the First World War.

Four of the stamps depict past and present members of New Zealand’s armed forces, each representing the Navy, the Air Force, the Army and serving medical personnel, and a fifth stamp features the RNZRSA poppy. The stamps are unified by a stained-glass window design, bordered by an archway of doves, ferns and koru, symbolising a future of peace.
